Indiana Medical Malpractice Attorneys

Indiana Law Firm

Voted one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2017, Joe Williams is often brought in to try complex lawsuits. Joe brings a unique ability to communicate with the jury, making the complex seem simple. His jury trial success includes recovering $112.4 million for a surgeon-inventor who was cheated by Medtronic (2nd largest verdict in Indiana history), $14.5 million for a roofer wrongfully accused of insurance fraud by State Farm (largest defamation verdict in Indiana history), and $3 million for a former school bus driver injured by a defective Cook Medical IVC filter.* Joe’s trial success has been widely reported in publications like USA Today, the Indianapolis Business Journal, Law.com, and the Indianapolis Star. In 2015, Joe was appointed liaison counsel for MDL No. 2570 (In re: Cook Medical). Joe is one of the few lawyers that tried both bellwether trials — the second of which resulted in the only jury finding of a design defect in any IVC filter case to be tried.

Grounds for Divorce in Ohio - Sylkatis Law, LLC

A divorce in Ohio is filed when there is typically “fault” by one of the parties and party not at “fault” seeks to end the marriage. A court in Ohio may grant a divorce for the following reasons:
• Willful absence of the adverse party for one year
• Adultery
• Extreme cruelty
• Fraudulent contract
• Any gross neglect of duty
• Habitual drunkenness
• Imprisonment in a correctional institution at the time of filing the complaint
• Procurement of a divorce outside this state by the other party

Additionally, there are two “no-fault” basis for which a court may grant a divorce:
• When the parties have, without interruption for one year, lived separate and apart without cohabitation
• Incompatibility, unless denied by either party

However, whether or not the the court grants the divorce for “fault” or not, in Ohio the party not at “fault” will not get a bigger slice of the marital property.
